Recipes are so much more than directions on a page. They carry voices, holidays, hand-written notes in the margins, and the kinds of memories that come rushing back the moment we start cooking. For one heartfelt evening, we’re gathering to celebrate those stories.

Join us at Brimmer & Heeltap for an intimate, conversation-filled night with local food writer and cookbook author Cynthia Nims, inspired by her new project, Long Live the Recipe Box. Cynthia will share reflections on why recipes matter, how they connect generations, and the beautiful ways they help us remember the people and places we love.

She’ll also offer thoughtful ideas on how to organize, document, and preserve your own treasured recipes so they continue to live on and be shared.

Our team will prepare a spread of snacks, including one very special recipe from Cynthia’s mom: her famous cheese cookies. It’s the perfect edible reminder of how food tells a story all its own.

Guests are invited to bring one to three meaningful recipes from their own collection — something handwritten, splattered with sauce, clipped from a magazine, inherited, or simply well-loved. We’ll use them as conversation starters, sharing memories and swapping ideas about the recipes that shaped us.

This evening is designed to feel cozy, curious, and personal. Seating is limited to keep the group connected, so advance reservations are encouraged.

We can’t wait to gather, remember, and celebrate the recipes that make up the stories of our lives.

Tickets are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to send someone in your place. Price includes sales tax.
